Fragments

Fragments is the product of three years of thinking and writing about the forces that shape us, especially those that are revealed at significant moments in our personal lives and our shared historical experiences.

These poems and poetic narratives explore the effects of those forces on how we think and love, the way we connect with the natural world, and the manner in which childhood experiences create our sense of self. Especially when those effects are suddenly amplified in their impact, changing the trajectory of our outlook on life. Or when our connections unexpectedly open or close, get out of joint or become clarified. Such moments can push us to confront how we transact with ourselves and the world we inhabit. Edward A. Francisco suggests that these are the moments that define us and that we are most authentic when we live as consciously as we can, as a project towards evolving understanding and personal freedom.
