Frank Maria

The Frank Maria papers, all 100 linear feet of it which I first saw with amazement at his Pumpkin Hill residence in 2002, is literally a treasure trove of historical information on the Arab American experience of the mid-late 20th Century. It reflects the energetic life of someone who was passionately devoted to increasing understanding about the Arab world and promoting peace and stability in that part of the world and beyond. As one of the nation's leading spokespersons from an Arab American perspective and as an activist in numerous organizations, Maria's papers contain some of the richest documentation available anywhere for studying the dynamic evolution of the Arab American community. It is a privilege, on behalf of the Immigration History Research Center, to serve as stewards of this exceptional resource material.
