From Mukherji to Malhotra is a narrative that goes beyond the lifestyles of Bengalis and Punjabis; it is in essence a story about two strong women who nurtured entire generations of youngsters who grew up to become sensible and responsible citizens of a nation just celebrating freedom.


While Kadambini lived in luxury and made a comfortable home for her husband and family, Jatto Rani and her daughter Nandrani went through the tumultuous pangs of the Partition. Yet through it all, both the women kept their families safe. The girls were educated, the boys went to work in stable jobs while the secure and safe homes gave them the confidence to live life on their own terms.
