Future Memories of Trains

A wonderful English teacher inspired a love of poetry in Mr. Lockett during his senior year in high school. Future Memories of Trains is a collection of poems written by Mr. Lockett during the intense and tumultuous process of racial integration in America. Being the "speck of pepper" in these elite bowls of sugar -- elite independent schools -- Mr. Lockett's poetry explores the precarious nature of inter-racial relationships and the power of love in the midst of extraordinary American social change.
