Garden of Life is an enchanting collection of thought-provoking poems set in different parts of the world: about great legends and dreams, war (real wars) and peace, nature scenes, inspiration, personal transformation, Covid-19, and what happened to America in 2020. Legends such as the life and teachings of the first Buddha, and tales of the young Egyptian King, Tutankhamen.
Our beautiful world has been torn apart by wars, hate, violence, and Covid-19. It needs healing. Despite our different faiths, cultures, and geographies, despite our politics, we must rise together in love and peace.
Jaya Kamlani is an award-winning Indian American author, poet, and Global Goodwill Ambassador. She uses storytelling to encourage introspection of how our actions impact humanity. As a former Silicon Valley business and information technology consultant, she is a firm believer of kaizen-continuous improvement-be it in manufacturing, business, or ourselves. Graduate of St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, India, she has been living in America since 1969.
Her literary works include non-fiction "To India, with Tough Love" (2013); memoir "Scent of Yesterday" (2014); poetry collection "Garden of Life" (2015/21), and non-fiction "The Conspirators: Taking Down The President (2020)," with upcoming sequels.
Kamlani has received several gold awards for literature from the Government of India: Hind Rattan (Jewel of India), Mahatma Gandhi Samman, Nav Rattan (one of 9 jewels), two Bharat Samman (Pride of India) awards, and the Bharat Shiromani (Crest Jewel of India) Award. More at: www.jayakamlani.com.
