Roxanne Reynolds is just beginning her third year at a Maryland high school. She is one of a very small number of people with IQs of over 1,000 who call themselves "Geniuses". They secretly live among us while concealing their extraordinary intelligence and mental powers.

The Geniuses living in the Western Hemisphere protect ordinary people from Eastern Geniuses who use their abilities to try to control ordinary people and dominate the world. Over thousands of years this has resulted in numerous confrontations between Western and Eastern Geniuses.

Andor Lysenko, a young Eastern European Genius, has just transferred into Roxanne's school. What does Andor's arrival mean for Roxanne ... and what does it mean for the safety of the world?
