A British horse racing thriller
Struggling Malton based racehorse trainer Harry Bolt is drawn into a suspicious death investigation when a potential new owner is found dead, minutes after leaving his racing stables.
Although the death has worrying similarities to an event in his own past, Harry's fortunes are given a sudden boost when he is made a rather strange offer, which is hard to turn down. It provides him with the opportunity of a lifetime: to spend serious money on several high quality racehorses at the yearling sales. This investment in bloodstock comes with only one objective - to win the Gimcrack, a top class race for juvenile colts, run at York's Ebor meeting.
