Giving From an Empty Well was born out of conversations with many people from all walks of life who, despite appearances of success and happiness, admitted to a sense of emptiness in their lives.
Using the analogy of the various aspects of a water well, its functions and purpose, Jeanie Brosius clearly shows how we unknowingly clog our natural free flow of joyous and creative energy by taking on attitudes, responsibilities and fears.
"This is not about taking one more class or seminar, finding one more lover or buying one more thing," Jeanie says. "It is about unclogging our own 'well-being' by releasing that which no longer serves. We are born with natural love, joy and creativity and somewhere along the way, we lose that sense of power. In Giving From an Empty Well, it becomes clear how we buy into commonly held beliefs that we should take responsibility for everything and everybody - except our own happiness. These beliefs and actions do not fill us with joy and we feel empty and depleted. Simply put, our energy is diverted. We experience a loss of power around issues such as personal relationships, health and money that we try to fill with more 'stuff.' It is by releasing what we are not responsible for and letting go of attitudes that clog our inner lives that we clear the channels and allow joy to fill us with a sense of 'well-being' once again.
