Globalization and Integrated Area Development in European Cities

This book argues that economic globalization should not imply the end of social urban policies; and that policy-makers do have sufficient freedom of action to make decisions about the social and economic future of deprived city areas. Evidence assembled from several European cities clearly demonstrates that neighbourhood-based development strategies can work to improve the environment for their populations.
