Good Morning, Sir George

 One day during the 2019 County Cricket Season, Donald Yule remarked to a friend, that the chap who had walked past them in the Lord’s pavilion looked like he should be called “Sir George”. When circumstances necessitated that Donald  invent  stories to publish in a wee book  which would raise money for charity,  the time seemed ripe for  a number of “Sir George” characters to appear in print. So in this  collection are ten “tiny tales” all with a different Sir George and mostly set against a background of historical events or circumstances. So here to pass an idle hour, you may find a different take on how Coronation Street was born; the story behind R L Stevenson’s Kidnapped; how Arthur Ransome created Swallows & Amazons with other similar tales and, of course, meet a “Sir George” on a wet day at Lord’s.
