Due to the arrogance of the Earth's governments in defying the edict not to pursue nuclear weapons, epecially the use of them in outer space, the Association of Planets sends their policeman Robot, GORT, to enforce their decision to eliminate the threat Earth poses to the rest of the planets. GORT's mission is simple, destroy all nuclear related facilities on Earth.
