Gray Card

General Serath has two objectives: clear his mind so that he can return to his station as head of the Coalition of Planets' military fleet with renewed purpose, and maintain his cover on the primitive paradise world where he's taking his shore leave. Neither of those objectives include Evelyn Chambers, the quirky Earthling who captured his attention shortly after he arrived. Her humor and wit fascinate him, and the more time they spend together, the more of her he craves.

The thought of their friendship ending is clouding Serath's mind worse than ever and he's expected back on the Arbiter soon. When Evelyn confesses her true feelings for him and proposes a solution to help him stay, he questions everything he thought he knew about their relationship, himself, and his own people. She knows him only as 'Adam Smith, ' a simple traveler from a different part of her homeworld. Being with her, loving her, is forbidden. Still, Serath realizes he's ready to sacrifice everything to be with her.

And that's when everything goes wrong.
