Grayhawk's Native American Folktales

Grayhawk's Native American Folktales is the long-awaited first collection by Grayhawk Perkins, a noted Houma/Choctaw storyteller from Louisiana. Grayhawk bases his stories on Indigenous tales but tweaks them to appeal to audiences today. Most stories feature universal nonhuman animal characters, such as Deer, Rabbit, Bobcat, Turtle, and Snake, who exhibit characteristic traits. Their adventures and challenges in the natural world provide insight into human behavior and how to treat others.
