Great Britain

The end of the Cold War ushered in a New World Order where the United States finds itself as the only global hegemon: a position that brings with it the "lonely at the top" syndrome. As we flex our global muscle we also become the primary target for the formation of rival coalitions (i.e. the European Union) and for asymmetric attacks (i.e. fundamental terrorism). As the United States entered the Global War on Terrorism, only one nation stood at our side with both the strong will and the combined military and economic power to make a lasting impression and strategic contribution: Great Britain.
