Green Glass Beads

A deep autobiographical soul-searching drives Merryl, a despairing mother of four approaching middle age, to delve into the flagging of her striving Christian spirit. Tortured by the bitter memory of her brusque response to her young son 's loving gesture during a marriage crisis twenty years in the past, Merryl relives her pain over a twenty-four hour journey back through the intervening years of trauma, 1967 to 1987, searching for the love she so cruelly threw away. Merryl capsulizes her heart-trek in a concluding selection of her poetry.
