Nightmares are real, and Julie Aim is one of the chosen people who battles them. She protects the innocent every night she goes to bed. Or at least she's learning to via Grey Haven, a school that teaches fledgling dreamers such as herself how to hunt shades - demons that haunt nightmares with the ultimate goal of possessing people. When strange attacks begin happening at the school, Julie is reluctantly pulled into a plot of betrayal, uncomfortable social encounters, and murder. When everyone at the school is put into a deep sleep that no one can break out of, it's up to her and her friends to unravel the truth of the attack and hopefully not die in the process.
