Hankow Return

Hankow Return is a fast-paced action-adventure tale set in the late 1930s during the Japanese invasion of China. Captain Bill Monroe, an experienced British fighter pilot and mercenary-with-a-conscience, is working with the Chinese government to build a professional air force in the face of the overwhelming strength of the enemy. But when an operation is sabotaged—leading to the loss of pilots and many soldiers on the ground—Monroe and the anti-Nazi German general Baron Valkenborn go on the hunt for the perpetrators. Aided by the patriotic Chinese officer Chan and the beautiful and courageous American dancer Nellie, our heroes move from Hankow (modern-day Wuhan) to Shanghai to Hong Kong as the net closes on the villain and events build to an explosive climax.

Flight Lieutenant C.S. Archer was an experienced RAF pilot who spent some considerable time in China in the 1930s. His first-hand knowledge of the places and people of the time is masterfully deployed in Hankow Return to create a compelling world and story.
