This is the third book in the mystery series of Hanna Rae O'Brien. Hanna Rae is thirteen and lives with her Mother and two brothers Samuel and JC.
The story starts off with a swarming. It's the hospital calling about her older brother, JC. It's bad, real bad.

While JC lays broken and unconscious in a hospital bed, Hanna Rae is shocked for a moment by the fact she feels good. She feels he got what he deserved. Still it's her time now to show him up as the creep he really is. Sara her best friend saw the whole thing. Hanna Rae finds out it has something to do with a gang and maybe drugs. Obstacles keep getting in her way as she tries to solve the mystery. Her whole life she has been fair to a fault, but now she's sick of it.
The book holds a roller-coaster ride of emotions with Hanna Rae leading the way.
It's a shame not to love your brother but it's not a crime.
