He Knoweth the Way That I Take

Here’s a peek at his childhood—an absent father, an abusive stepfather, a mother who walked miles for cleaning jobs. A bully and a poor student.

That was Bob Boltz, growing up in Wayne County, Ohio, in the early to mid-1900s.

Statistics would have predicted the following for the next stages of Bob’s life: in trouble with the law, angry and hard-hearted, continuing the cycle of a dysfunctional family.

But not Bob. He became an adult who was known as a generous, hardworking, and faithful husband, father, and grandfather, all because Someone was watching. Someone cared. Someone called his name. 

“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10).
