Addie Kennedy was caught up in a man's world. As a child, the Superintendent of Indian Affairs forced her to go to a boarding school far from her home. As a young adult, her father arranged her marriage to an older man who took her Osage hand only to claim financial gain of annuities and land. She escaped the marriage into the arms of handsome cowhand, who later became her second husband. This season ultimately led to the most tumultuous event in her life when a judge declared her an unfit mother by the court. Her third husband stole her money and deserted her. In the end, she defied them all. Addie was determined to outwit the challenges-and men-she had been faced with for all these years.
