Heights of Folly

The Moffats own Penwhapple, a remote Scottish tower house, thought to be haunted. There is a curse on selling it. Associated with the castle is Somersby School. The Moffats decide to sell. The head of the family, Drummond Moffat, dies of cancer. His sisters, Sylvia and Iona, are carried off by heart attacks. The headmaster of Somersby is ruined, the lives of the younger generation blighted. Lionel Moffat, the villain of the piece, survives.
