Hiba, an eight-year-old girl, decides to fill her glass jar with the treasure she hunts on her family's farm. Her wise grandmother teaches her what the true treasure is and what she needs to look for but Hiba doesn't pay much attention. She goes outside to the farmyard where they live and starts her adventure searching for anything that appeals to her.
She sees a squirrel and stole his nuts, then she meets with a pirate parrot who tells her where his friends the pirates left their treasure chest. As Hiba became focused on finding an exciting treasure she starts to experience anxiety, sadness, and fear. At night Hiba couldn't sleep, overwhelmed with all the negative emotions she gathered during her treasure hunt. The cracked glass jar beside her bed is full of rotten stuff, she decides to get rid of it.
The next morning her grandma finds the jar and sees what Hiba has collected the day before, she talks to her and explains what true treasure is. Hiba goes outside to the farmyard again but this time to give back what she has stolen and correct everything wrong she did. As she did that her jar was fixed and she became happy again.
Hiba and the Treasure Jar is the first book in a series that aims to promote the culture of a caring love with a respectful understanding of the world. In this book, I start by teaching children to think of life & human values and decide on what is good and what's harmful to themselves and others.
