Hiking In

April is dissatisfied with her mundane life. Pursuing a different path, she divorces, seeks self-help, and sinks into television. Her landscape is largely unchanged until she learns about the historical 33 miles of the Klondike Gold Rush Chilkoot Trail. A caf encounter with a hiker convinces April that she could traverse the Chilkoot as soon as she learns to hike and camp. Gear purchased and parks picked, she begins to build outdoor savvy, mileage, and trail hours readying for her big summer hike. At the trailhead's start in the abandoned townsite of Dyea, Alaska, April crosses bogs, hikes through alpine forest, and reaches the Golden Stairs boulder climb before she can cross the Pass and finish her hike. Will the Chilkoot be the adventure April hoped for?
