Il a été traduit en français au 19ème siècle par Agricole Joseph François Xavier Pierre Esprit Simon Paul Antoine Fortia d'Urban, et accompagné de notes et de commentaires de Jean Lefevre. Il décrit l'histoire politique, sociale, économique et culturelle de la région, depuis l'époque romaine jusqu'au 17ème siècle.
