We still go out to work, enjoy vacations, and watch Netflix on the TV.
Ordinary stuff still happens.

But memories are corroded.
And Jelvias, behaving like paramilitary contract killers, targets us.

Macy Shaw's fascination for the venom-spitting Jelvias grew after discovering crime had fallen dramatically since Jelvias killed mainly criminals.

Narcifer, like all of his species, believes Earth is home and wishes his people were more willing to integrate into Human society.
When a chance encounter has him meet flame-haired Macy, passion sparks, and he forgets they're a different species and shouldn't mix. Macy becomes embroiled in his affairs, and it becomes a conflict between his people and the woman he loves.

But neither realises that, in the months to come, their memories will return, and the truth, so terrifying, will emerge.
