If You Can Walk, You Can Dance

A white South African student finds herself in London in the 1970s, living in a women's commune. She understands two things - music and children - and becomes involved in teaching pupils with learning difficulties to communicate through music before eventually moving across Africa, back to her roots, using music as a universal passport. In the moving and simply told story, Molteno explores ideas about community, education and worldwide culture that have led to her job as education adviser to the UK charity Save the Children.
