It is no gainsaying that the relevance of Yoruba Ifa religion in fostering good neighbourliness, peace and peaceful co-existence and social justice in Yorubaland in particular and Nigeria in general has not been adequately addressed by previous scholarly works. This book comes to fill this lacuna by examining the roles of two principal divinities of the Yoruba African religion namely Ifa and Esu in social justice in Nigeria. Apart from correcting some misconceptions about these divinities, the book reveals how they can be spiritually invoked or charged to actions against the evil-trinity of poverty, corruption and insecurity which are the bane of modern Nigerian society. Moreover, Ifa consultation, divination and performance of sacrifices by political and traditional leaders/priests to implant peace and ward off poverty, corruption and insecurity from this country are sacrosanct. All Ifa/Orisa traditionalists as well scholars of African Indigenous Religions at home and in Diaspora would find traditional elements and values for the promotion of social justice via native religions and cultures in this book.
