Illustrated Cosmic Monopole

This is a true account of how, following a disaster in CERN on 5 April 2012, you and everyone else on Earth stopped living. The disaster was caused by a particle called a "Cosmic Monopole", which had been wandering the Universe since the Big Bang. It was trapped by one of the CERN detectors and transformed into a black hole. This grew, absorbed two men and, moments later, time stopped everywhere in the universe except near fragments of mysterious blue crystal: Time Crystals. Irish schoolgirl Catriona, who was visiting CERN, has to descend through the whole history of the universe collecting crystals in an attempt not only to restart time but to solve the mystery of her father's death years before. This story is based on extensive research by British author Wyken Seagrave guided by documents he has obtained which prove the veracity of this apparently unbelievable story. But, to make it comprehensible to the non-scientist, he has created the pictures and added some details based on what he thinks probably happened. This does not change the fact that this story is fundamentally true. He has also added biographies of the main characters, a glossary of key terms and a bibliography. Not the easiest format but it didn't matter, I wanted to know what happened next each time I had to leave it. I have a huge interest in The Hadron Collider so it was a foregone conclusion that I would enjoy this book and I wasn't disappointed. A great story - one that I can not wait to read the next episode of - with very complex characters and even more complex relationships. The author manages to combine his obvious extensive knowledge of the subject with an incredible imagination. I loved it!
