:The 2019 coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Coronavirus 2 was responsible for high morbidity and mortality. Several prognostic factors have been identified, but the impact of smoking on this condition remains a matter of controversy. Our study concerned patients who were hospitalized with COVID-19 pneumonitis between 2020 and March 2021. The aim of our study was to evaluate the impact of smoking on the radio-clinical presentation of this condition and on its evolutionary course. Results 237 patients with a mean age of 62.7 years were included. The study population was divided into two groups: G1, a group of non-smoking patients (184 patients), and G2, a group of smoking patients (53 patients). G1 was predominantly female, while G2 was predominantly male. The two groups were comparable in terms of age, presence of diabetes, arterial hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmia and coronary insufficiency, but obesity was more frequent in the former group.
