In Ethiopia the study of conflict transformation has remained a terra incognita owing to both the focus of researches on conflict management and resolution mechanisms, and the relatively new nature of the practice. In this regard, this book attempts to throw light into this slightly investigated issue so far. The book contextually analyzes the Amhara-Afar inter-ethnic conflict in Kewot and Semurobi-Gela'alo areas. It also systematically identifies the structural, proximate and triggering causes of the conflcit in the study area. Depicting the historical contexts of the conflict management and resolution processes in the area is also endeavored in the book. In the main, the book analyzes the conflict transformation attempts in the area. The wideranging strong and feeble sides of the transformation practice are identified. Finally, the book forwards some recommendations that are presumed to take the practice to a higher level of success.
