It's Not (Just) About The Breast

Petrina writes of her experiences as a young woman finding her way through the unfolding of a complex genetic breast and ovarian cancer family story after being diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer at 31. Petrina discovers not only cancer's usual post-diagnosis complications and adversities, but also some unexpected deep, and painful realities needing to be confronted at a time when her contemporaries are largely thinking of progress, family and the future. 

Despite the disappointments of the past, now 14 years later, Petrina has discovered that it is possible to accept and make the best of the changes that cancer can bring, by focusing on working towards a better tomorrow and by keeping connected with those around her.
