The book covers the complete syllabus but is not limited to the paper "Jharkhand Economy" under FYUG programme. The topic intensively covered are Income of the state, demographic characteristics, education, skills & health, poverty & employment, urbanisation, welfare schemes, and issues relating to land acquisition, displacement, trafficking & Non-timber forest produce(NTFPs). Moreover, it discusses the neglected issues of the state such as economic causes of tribal revolts, (P)PESA, FRA, and state's potential to become a green economy. Keeping in mind that a book filled with data and tables is tiresome and exhausting, graphs and diagrams have been frequently used for the convenience of readers.
