Josiah and Naiyah's World

Hey Everyone! Josiah's back! You met him in Josiah's Ausome Adventures: My Autismwhere he taught all of us about autism. Now he's here with his sister, Naiyah. Both Josiah and Naiyah have sensory processing disorder, or SPD. In this book, Josiah and Naiyah's World, they teach children from age three to nine years old about SPD and how to interact with their friends and other people they love who may have it. 

Although sensory processing disorder can be challenging for the person who has it and for their family, this upbeat and informative story shows that they can still have a happy life. Josiah and Naiyah break down in easy-to-understand language that SPD, like autism, occurs on a spectrum and they explain the different ways it can show up. And the vibrant, bright-colored illustrations add warmth and calm to a subject that can be scary, only because it is misunderstood.
