Joy Comes in the Morning is a compilation of Matthew's writings, which he began as a very young child. The first poem he wrote was at nine years old and is included in this book. He writes about the love of family, nature, and his faith. His poems, prayers, and short stories are also expressive of the thoughts and feelings of those suffering from depression and addiction. He writes from the very darkest of places in his soul, yet hope and faith shine through and leave one knowing there is more to life than our days on earth.
