Juvenile Justice System and Practice

This book is designed as an introduction to the juvenile justice system and will review articles, policies, and training material used to improve the delivery of services within the juvenile justice system. The text will explore issues such as the history and development of juvenile justice, the theories of causation for delinquency, the classification of juveniles within the juvenile justice system, the juvenile justice court process, and juvenile court programming and diversion techniques. The text will also explore significant court decisions and court procedures in the juvenile justice system to expose the problems which hinder the success of the system and techniques used to control and prevent delinquency.
