Literature as any other resource of the community has the main role of developing, preserving and maintaining the esteem of a given nation-by engaging people of different communities and by drawing a new map of the world where a person will be a human not a shoe or an animate human. So, that development and conserving must factor all the facets of the community. Genre of poetry entails many features including rhyme, metre, language, repetition, lines, caesura, stanza etc. however, this book Canon Rules of Analysis: Genre of Poetry, the poet Ustadh Ruo Kimani-Ruo has not only delved and came up with detailed matter concerning the genre of poetry but has also considered the state of mind, imagery, setting, language, conflict, flow of thought, structure, style etc. that are closely related and depend on each other on the whole issue of developing and completing the entire Swahili poetry.
