Kashi is one of the most famous pilgrimage centers of India. It's a city of Moksha  (eternal bliss) in the minds of Hindus all over the world. Hailing from the Vedas and Puranas, this holy city is located in the Varanasi (Banaras) District of the state of Uttar Pradesh. Varanasi derives its name from the fact that it is situated between the rivers Varuna and Asi. Kashi is also known as the city of light.
