Some say that traumatic experiences either break you or make you stronger. After witnessing the violent murders of their mothers, Roy and Lyle, two seventeen-year-old, nave best friends are living proof that adage is true.

When these young field workers from the village of Milthon are suspected to fulfil an obscure and ancient prophesy, their lives attract attention far and wide. There are whispers of five stones with great powers and a prophecy of a worthy young man who would find these stones and wield their power for good. Evils of every description are aware of this prophecy and are seeking to find the stones to use them for their own nefarious ends.

Roy and Lyle set out together into a vast, unknown world. From the alluring city of Tarlon, to the centuries-old tradition and end-of-year celebration of The Warriors Hunt, the young men are inspired for their real journey to begin. But tremendous friction and strife come between the two friends as they are not in agreement on what's to be done-one is distraught with anger, the other with grief. One friend wishes to find these stones for revenge, the other to stop a sorcerer from spreading darkness across the lands.

Can such loss and grief terminate close friendships? Who will reach the stones first? Will the power of darkness once again inhabit the land?
