Knifeboy

Freshman Ted Wilson takes a dare from the love of his life, Emily, who says he isn't charming enough to sell knives. Ted decides to prove her wrong and spends his summer selling knives for Vector Marketing, working his way up the ranks by any dubious means possible. Before long he is deeply submerged in the bizarre subculture of knife selling and his summer job turns into a full blown existential crisis. Knifeboy is a satirical and hilarious first novel that's unafraid to be offensive and disturbing, but is ultimately a poignant tale of a young man's coming of age.
