Kushwant Singh's Delhi as a Metaphor of Power

Khushwant Singh's novels reveal his awareness of the events around him. The rural atmosphere of Punjab, urban environment of Delhi and sophisticated city of London - all the three have rendered dominant influence on the personality of Khushwant Singh. In a broad sense, his first two novels, Train to Pakistan, and I Shall Not Hear the Nightingale reflect his experiences of childhood, and Delhi, his Third novel shows the influence of the city Delhi.
