La Chanson d'Une Nuit d'Été

Alors que la nuit tombe par une douce soirée d'été, les enfants du quartier attendent près de leurs fenêtres pour voir un spectacle nocturne exceptionnel, plein de magie. Sous un ciel immense et infini, la scène est peuplée par une multitude d'animaux domestiques et sauvages. Des lucioles et grillons, des chats et chiens ainsi que des ratons laveurs, hiboux et mouffettes cohabitent tous dans un décor enchanteur et forment un choeur harmonieux. À chaque tour de page se construit un poème, comportant des images vives et des rimes inattendues, qui se révèle une ode à la beauté de la nature.

As night falls on a soft summer evening, neighborhood children are drawn out of their houses by the sights and sounds of the world after dark. First the fireflies come sparkling past, followed by a host of domestic and wild animals, from cats and dogs to owls and skunks. All the characters, both human and otherwise, have their moment on the nighttime stage, but eventually, the curtain falls, and sleepiness beckons.
