Lappiske Sprogprver

A collection of Lapp (Sami) folktales, proverbs, and riddles, compiled and translated into Danish by the Norwegian linguist Jens Andreas Friis. First published in 1871, the book offers a rare glimpse into the oral literature and linguistic diversity of the Sami people, an indigenous minority group inhabiting the northern regions of Scandinavia, Russia, and Finland.
