So have a care, give a thought, or better yet, petition an inquiry if you are still alive. Remember the horrible ways in which certain individuals were discriminated against by some of the upper echelon ship and office officers, who let this continue for 35 plus years, without ever a hint of help or understanding. Feel the disgust as the bigoted injustice exacerbated as the number of personnel increased. Probe the incompetent union reps who sat by, pretending that they cared as they hindered the opportunities which may have financially benefited me... Who am I? I was that first Black employee #01756 of this world-renowned company. I was, (now retired) the first Black Chief Engineer while in their employ. During the course of my job, I was the employee assaulted by Jerry Quarry in 1971, the world known heavyweight boxer, who was never charged, due to special treatment which this company seemingly subscribed to. The instances of Racial Discrimination which I, the author/poet/writer of these verses, tolerated and documented each and every incident, event, and occasion, are inside the pages of this book. These are the details of the abuse, oppression, and distress endured while on duty for the Blazing Red, White, and Blue ships as they sailed thru the waters of British Columbia. As Bligh made Christian forever relevant with the Bounty and Bligh's mistreatment of his crew, so too has the Gleaming White Hulls made my name forever relevant with the BC Ferries, where I continued to suffer without an advocate or legal assistance to my claims for retribution... and thereby I became.... ... from January 1969 until June 2004 ... "...The BLACK mark on their Lily White Sides..."
