"Lenox Staring at the Ceiling" is part I of a heartfelt story of a boy who lost his mother before the age of 5 and lived in extreme poverty and despair for most of his life. It's a compelling, funny and beautiful tale of overcoming unsurmountable odds, poverty, abuse, bulling, depression, anxiety, fear and low self esteem while growing up in a sexist society in his hometown of Goiania, Brazil.

Lenox is Jose's alter ego which he discovered and invited into the story to free him from his own shackles, awkwardness, and inhibitions of writing about his challenging, difficult and filled with obstacles as well as opportunities life.
