Leon, a six-month old baby, is placed into the care of Enid & Jim Frazer, after his father commits suicide and his mother, subsequently, abandons him. At the hands of his new carers, he emerges, gradually, into a world of self-loathing- the result of physical and emotional torture. Shortly after his fourteenth birthday, on the verge of being psychologically destroyed, he decides to run and run he does into the unknown. His meeting with Jamie, a seemingly caring and protective role-model, throws him into a life of new, hitherto, unimaginable horrors, of a type that very few will ever experience or even fully comprehend.
