Why write a devotional based on Leviticus?

Because there aren't many books written about it.

Most Christians place it into a box that has nothing to do with them. Either it is legalistic and has too many rules which can be ignored, or it is too difficult because it contains complex and often controversial topics like animal sacrifice, homosexuality, tattoos, sexual immorality and punishment. For many, it appears to portray a side to God that many Christians aren't willing to entertain.

In this set of devotionals, Jean seeks to help the reader begin to grapple with this book of the Bible often ignored and neglected by so many Christians.

This book is NOT a Bible commentary, nor is it an exegetical study of Leviticus. It does not claim to answer the complex questions found in Leviticus; instead the aim of this set of devotionals is to make the book of Leviticus easier to read for the modern Christian.

Using the New International Reader's Version, Jean hopes to dispel the view that the book of Leviticus is a difficult and irrelevant book of the Bible. Rather, the character of God remains the same throughout this often-neglected book, as in any other book of the Bible.

This book (Volume One) is focused on the first seven chapters of the book of Leviticus.
