Social and economic justice and peace is mainstreamed by an American politician and an independent Jew from the Bronx in New York. A man in his seventies who had the guts and the fire to dare dream the impossible dream that Roberta Flack sang for in the 1970s can emerge out of the seemingly hopeless, dysfunctional, rigged, corrupt, and intractable chaos of a dominant paradigm rooted in racism, militarism, and greed. I could not let the opportunity to share how I felt with the larger Washingtonian American, and thanks to the Internet, the world passed me by when I got it at an event at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in May 2016, celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King.
