Gambia is one of the most popular destinations to travel to in Africa. Its hot weather, beautiful beaches, rich culture, and friendly citizens make it the ideal holiday location for many. There is also a growing influx of people of African heritage born in the diaspora, who have either relocated permanently to Gambia or they have plans to move their in the future.Author Makonnen Sankofa has been to Gambia 3 times. In 2019, he spent 6 months living in Gambia. In this book, Makonnen gives insight into his experiences of Gambia. His journey is from the perspective of a person who has African-Caribbean heritage and was born in the diaspora. During his time in Gambia, Makonnen connected with his African roots and explored opportunities available in Gambia.Makonnen had an eventful time in Gambia. This included visiting the villages, going to a wedding, learning about the different tribes, teaching in schools, filming and editing videos for the Blaxit YouTube channel, and meeting the movers and shakers of Gambia!
