Autobiography: Alan Miniter, originally from the East Coast, found his way to California where he built a life with his family. With 40 years of experience as an operations manager, Alan's blend of economics and psychology education honed his Emotional Intelligence. This expertise enabled him to guide others in developing character and achieving success. Alongside his professional journey, Alan's passion for writing, nurtured through years of crafting stories for loved ones, led him to publish his first children's book. His dedication to volunteering in schools and various organizations further fueled his desire to make a positive impact on those around him. For Alan, life is about embracing each day, drawing strength from both dreams for the future and cherished memories of the past.

Illustrators Autobiography: Shirley Fowley taught art at the senior public school level of the Waterloo Regional Board of Education

for 33 years. She honed her skills by earning qualification certificates and taking university summer courses at

The Ontario College of Art, University of Waterloo, Laurier University, and private art lessons. Her talent is

inherited from a long line of artistic forebears.

She primarily enjoys painting acrylic or watercolour landscapes and creating and drawing cartoons and humorous

pictures. Other artistic endeavours include ten years of designing and building award-winning floats for the Oktoberfest Parade,

designing and painting theatre sets for many musical productions and creating theatrical props. She has designed the lighting and

stage managed many dance shows as well as directed and staged two gala fundraising shows for the Chinese Cultural Community at the

Centre in the Square, Kitchener.
