Welcome to Morpheus, a despicable system of barely inhabitable planets populated by the unwanted scum of the universe, but Sal Tripp just calls it home. If you've got a ship and questionable morals, you can make a decent living out here, and Sal and her dad Morgan are two of the best bounty hunting pirates this side of the Koji Divide. Unfortunately, trouble has a tendency of finding Morgan almost as often as their relic ship Light Tripper blows her thrusters. But when a ruthless mobster puts a massive price on Morgan's head, it sets the dauntless duo on a collision course with destiny.

The benevolent Planetary Alliance has arrived in Morpheus, taking up residence in Lotus City, preaching peace while firing photons on any who do not comply. Amidst the chaos, Raijin, a smoldering super soldier, appears from nowhere and for a hot minute Sal thinks she might have found her next adventure, but this badass is all business and he knows more about Sal than even she does.

The P.A.'s presence forces Sal to confront her tormenting memories and seek answers to her mysterious powers which some would kill to weaponize. As the occupation escalates and casualties increase, the line between fight and flight blurs. The pirate alliances are razor thin, and Sal will need to find a way to unite them in order to save the only home they know from annihilation. But who can Sal trust in a system where it's every fashtapa for themselves?
